The aim is to show that "Mataró is, and must be, a glass city". It can be seen in the hall of the Association of Surveyors in Mataró and is organized by the Associació Vidre Bufat in collaboration with the Associació Sant Lluc per l’Art.
Next Friday, July 9, the Sant Lluc Association for the Art of Mataró will open the doors of the last exhibition of the 2020-2021 season. It will do so in the space of the delegation of the Association of Surveyors of Mataró with the exhibition "ART IN GLASS - Artisans and artists", curated by Marta Duran Quintana and Marcel Estrems Martínez, in collaboration with the Associació Vidre Bufat, who are the organizers. The exhibition will be open until August 1.
As a complementary activity, the day after the opening, on July 10, there will be a demonstration of glass carving by Ramon Artigas, which will take place in the open space of the Plaza de Can Xammar, in front of the Association of Surveyors, from 11 to 1 in the morning and from 5 to 8 in the afternoon.
In the exhibition "Art in Glass" you can see works by artists Marta Duran, Mònica Vilert, Laia Arnau and Ricard Jordà, all of them linked, in one way or another, to the world of glass.
Next to it, we will find works by the artisans of the cooperative and their descendants, pieces made with different techniques, none with the blowing technique, but some with the glass cane, others such as painting on glass, glass in flame, fussing and creations with recycled glass.
In the words of the curators and organizers, the exhibition aims to help show that "Mataró is, and must be, a glass city".
