In the space L’Intrevista of the program number 33 of Mataró Cultural on Ràdio la Veu Tv, Albert Geronès talks to the Mataro artist-sculptor-blacksmith Pol Codina Font.

Pol Codina was born in Mataró in 1983. He studied Artistic Baccalaureate at the Escola Pia de Santa Anna and, later, he continued his education at the Escola Massana, in Barcelona, where he studied the Higher Degree in Industrial Design.

The artist is the heir to a lineage of blacksmiths in our city, "La Serralleria March", recognized by the Generalitat as one of the centenary companies in the country. Here Codina is very respectful of his family continuity in the world of forging, which, despite the many technological changes of recent years, is still a completely artisan work.

Despite his youth, Pol Codina has made numerous exhibitions and interventions. His first commission was a monumental work, it is "El Peix del Maresme". An order that came, precisely, thanks to the family trajectory.

As for popular works, he is the author of the Les Santes poster for 2013 and in 2017 he was commissioned to design the original nougat from Pastisseria Uñó.

In the interview, Pol Codina explains his creative process in front of a work. He will also talk about his different artistic projects: Vertebrate Figures, Sea Beasts, Holy and Giant Mythologies and Colors and Nature.
