On the weekend of September 3, 4 and 5, the Port of Mataró hosted the first edition of the Posidònia Fest Mataró. A music festival where the public could attend, through a single ticket or season ticket, concerts of high-quality emerging musicians and established or media musicians, betting on local proposals.

Cine Núria from Mataró (Leo Rey and Fernando Herrero); the Barcelona musician and composer Pau Vallvé; the singer Maria del Mar Bonet with guitarist Borja Penalba; Lia Sampai, accompanied by Adrià Pagès; the singer-songwriter Gessamí Boada, from Mataró and one of the highest quality female voices on the Catalan music scene, and Txell Sust from Mataró, accompanied by Pep Poblet and Nito Figueres, were the artists who took part in the first edition of the festival.
One of the most important Posidonia meadows in terms of extension, occupying an area of approximately 700 hectares, is the one that has given its name to this new musical proposal that has emerged from private initiative.
Mataró Cultural spoke with Carles Moreno, a member of theAssociation for the Support of the Development of Artistic Projects, Microscope, the entity responsible for organizing this new musical event in the city.
Moreno explains the aims of Microscope: To give tools to musicians who want to publish an album, Planning; Digital dissemination and distribution; Registration, control and advice on rights; Ethical contracts… All this from a transparent label for free musicians. With him we will talk about how the idea of Posidonia Fest came about and the future of the proposal.
