Vázquez is a young theater and film director born in Mataró, who never stops, he has not yet finished a project that is already working on the next one.

In addition to other formations, Vazquez graduated fromSchool of Cinema and Audiovisuals of Catalonia (ESCAC) with the specialty of scriptwriting.

In 2008 he premiered his first play, "L'habitació del nen", by Josep Maria Benet i Jornet. Since then, all the productions, a total of 17, have been very well received by the public and critics.

Today we have it in Mataró Cultural on the occasion of the success achieved with HAMNET, the first play performed in Mataró after the confinement.

In the first part of the interview, Vazquez he tells us where his passion for theater and cinema comes from and what his first experiences were in this world.

It’s especially interesting to hear the part we’re talking about HAMLET, of which he wrote that: "It is an experimental and minimalist play, very cinematic, which in practice has a very contemporary conception."

You will hear what it was like to work with a young (14 years old) actor from Mataró Quim Font, and the video presence in the work of an established actor such as Joan Crosa.

But in Pere Vázquez not only does he direct, but we’ve also seen him perform. Without going any further, in the Pastorets de la Sala Cabanyes, where most of the Mataro actors have passed, who have since triumphed on stage.

Finally, the protagonist of the Interview space today, tells us what projects you have for the future. A future that is uncertain due to the pandemic that we still do not know when we can give up and that will probably leave us new habits.

Here you can listen to the entire program.
